I love how he holds the ball.
emmit smith sux
you have a point but earl campbell is better than most running backs in todays game by far it dont matter about the defense did u see him plow sum guys helmut off…… he is by far one of the best ever the redskins back in the day had the faststest defensive player the safety and yet tht didnt stop campbell so honestly your wrong dnice1182
You can’t call him the best runner ever because the defenses back then wasn’t as good as the defenses today. You can throw almost any top runningback today back in that time and they would be a beast. You can’t throw earl campbell in today’s league and expect him to do those same things he did in that time. Today’s defenses are just too fast.
2:50 is just ownage
Ahhhh, the greatest RB in history.
I love Payton too! Was always arguing with
my friends back in the day for walter, guess
i am a real homer for the Bears, however
I must be honest, Earl Campbell is the best runner! then, now, and will always be ,just look at what he was able to do!
If the tyler rose played against 50’s &
60’s teams he would have avg 2000 yrds
per season, when a season was 12 games nuff said!
He crushes that dude at 2.48
he made football players play football
walter payton is abetter player no doubt. but earl campbell is way more of a hard runner than walter. that is why he didnt last long as payton did
2:48 – 3:00 great run especially running over that tackler towards the beginning! but completely tore his jersey off!!!!
OK Bears lover, you want somebody to come out and say that more yards and a longer career makes a better back, then there you have it. The best back of all time was Emmit Smith. By the way I LOVE Walter Payton too, but this is a video about Earl Campbell so just appreciate it for what it is. BTW NO back was as punishing or as hard to bring down as the Tyler Rose. NONE EVER.
Walter Payton was better. Walter Payton played for much longer and got 16726. Earl Campell played for 7 yrs. and got 9407. That shows that Walter Payton was a longer and more valuble asset to the team. Plus, Earl Campell’s ave/rush was 4.3, Walter Payton’s was 4.4. Everything points to Walter Payton being the better player.
at 2:48-2:53, he just ran ova a MLB, and toss him aside and continue to run lmao
2:50 EARL CAMBELL was the best RB and thats the reason why
VERY underated player. He would start on my all-time team.
man hes good…i just dont see how he hangs on to the damn football…he carrys it like a loaf of bread
Wow..knew he had power..but the speed and moves..dude was awesome.
WHAT A BEAST!
he must of fumbled the ball a lot looking at how he holds it
Earl Campbell isn’t in the top 10 running backs of all time, he didn’t even rush for over 10,000 yards. He did rush for over 9,000, almost 10,000, and he did it with only about 7 seasons playing with the Oilers. That is why he is in the hall of fame, imagine if he played for a SupeBowl team and had 10+ years in his career. No one man could tackle Earl, took atleast 2 or 3, sometimes 4 or 5. Mean Joe Greene said Earl was the most punishing runningback ever, Tyler Rose forever!!!
Walter Payton was better.
That’s probably one of the greatest running plays I have ever seen. When he went down, his jersey was ripped to threads!
Earl was fun to watch. A few similar runners I can remember, Christian Okoye or the chiefs, Roger Craig and his high kick, Tom Rathman, John Riggins, the dude running the ball for the giants now and yes Peterson for the vikes is both fast and a smather. Forgot Bo Jackson too. There have been many fun runners to watch like Campbell.
wht abought Adrian for the vikings
well, now we know about him.
Yeah. Not many of them last long and the ones that do are beat up big time when they are done.
